Fox Home Entertainment announced today that Nim’s Island, a story of self-discovery and friendship starring Abigail Breslin, Jodie Foster and Gerard Butler, will debut August 5th on DVD and Blu-ray.
Breslin plays the lead role of Nim, a girl living a high-tech Robinson Crusoe existence on a remote island with her scientist father and her exotic animal friends… a life that mirrors that of her favorite literary hero – Alex Rover, the world’s greatest adventurer. When Nim’s father goes missing at sea during an expedition leaving Nim alone on the island, a twist of fate brings her together with Alexandra, the reclusive author of the Rover books. Now, together they must draw courage from their fictional hero, Alex Rover, and find strength in one another to protect Nim’s Island.
Nim’s Island is presented in widescreen (2.35:1 aspect ratio) on a single-layer disc with English 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio, Spanish/French Dolby Surround 5.1 with English and Spanish subtitles. The Nim’s Island Blu-ray Disc includes the standard-def bonus features from the DVD version (deleted scenes, commentary, featurettes) plus the following BD exclusive content:
