’24: Season Seven’ coming to Blu-ray May 19

“24” Season Seven arrives on Blu-ray Disc and DVD May 19 from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, loaded with special features including deleted scenes, commentaries and featurettes. The “24” Season Seven Blu-ray disc is presented in widescreen format with English 5.1 DTS HD Master Audio and includes English, French and Spanish subtitles.

Bonus features include: commentary by various crew members including Executive Producer/Director Jon Cassar and Carlos Bernard; The Fimucité Festival Presents: The Music of 24; Hour 19: The Ambush; and deleted scenes with optional commentary by Co-Executive Producer Stephen Kronish and Producer Paul Gadd.

South Park coming to Blu-ray

Comedy Central today announced that South Park will make its Blu-ray debut when the 12th season arrives in store on March 10, 2009, day-and-date with the DVD release. The 12th season Blu-ray set will include all 14 episodes on 3 discs. The set will also include the following bonus content:

– Six Days to South Park – A Day-by-Day Making of South Park
– Six Days to South Park — The Sixth Day
– The Making of the “Major Boobage” episode

‘Firefly – The Complete Series’ blasts its way onto Blu-ray

Firefly – The Complete Series is blasting off for the first time onto Blu-ray Disc on November 11th from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment.

From writer/producer Joss Whedon, the series has accumulated a devoted fan-base since its 2003 premiere on DVD and garnered an Emmy Award that same year. The ensemble cast includes nine members of a renegade crew of the spaceship “Serenity,” led by Nathan Fillion who won the Cinescape Genre Face of the Future Award in 2003 for his role.

Set in the year, 2517, the series explores the aftermath of a civil war and the pioneer culture that exists on the fringes of their star system. Featuring new Blu-ray Disc exclusive content, the Firefly – The Complete Series three-disc set includes all 14 episodes in HD format and is highlighted by an all-new “Firefly Reunion” roundtable discussion about the series plus a brand new episode commentary with Whedon and select cast members.

The Firefly – The Complete Series Blu-ray set is authored in BD-J on three dual-layer 50GB discs presented in widescreen format (1.78:1 aspect ratio) with English 5.1 DTS HD Master Lossless Audio, Spanish and French Dolby Surround and German 5.1 DTS, plus English, Spanish and Dutch subtitles.
